ABOUT
I am Dr. Matthew Dunn. I witness patterns in organizational consciousness.
My formal credentials are a doctorate in Organizational Leadership Psychology, and two decades of coaching and consulting work. My actual education came from watching what happens when groups exhaust themselves—when they try to rise without ever falling, gather without dispersing, perform productivity while everyone slowly drowns.
The Path Here
I spent a decade as a collegiate soccer coach before understanding that teams move as living systems, not collections of individuals. That led me to study organizational psychology, then to founding a consulting practice in 2016.
The dissolution of that practice in 2020 taught me more than its success ever had: sometimes forms need to dissolve so truth can emerge.
What emerged: I'm not a consultant who fixes organizations. I witness what groups already know but can't name. I help them feel the patterns their bodies have been tracking all along.
The Work
Seven Transmissions published by Fractal Praxis Press:
Organizational Metaphysics (cosmological foundation)
We Gather But Do Not Meet (mythological diagnosis)
Testimony (voices from inside the machine)
Here, Remembered (requiem after the storm)
The Field Manual (underground practice protocols)
The Rhythm of Us (accessible entry point, publishing 2025)
MOVEMENTS: Organizations Are Conscious (geometric proof, publishing 2026)
Plus:
Monthly Field Notes: Observations on patterns as they emerge
Koans: Over 100 distilled recognitions
Strategic Witnessing: Facilitated sessions (provided by Performance Rising)
What I Actually Do
I witness patterns.
I watch the three movements—BREATH (gathering and dispersing), PULSE (rising and falling), TIDE (composing and decomposing)—play out across every human system. From partnerships to multinational corporations. From families to social movements.
I witness what happens when these movements get stuck. When organizations forget they're made of bodies. When exhaustion becomes so normalized that no one recognizes it as information.
This witnessing takes different forms:
Through writing: Seven books that map what I've seen across thousands of hours in organizational work. Not theory imposed on practice, but patterns that revealed themselves through practice.
Through facilitation: Sessions where teams feel what their bodies already know. Not teaching frameworks. Creating space for recognition.
Through monthly observations: Field Notes that track what's emerging across the work in real time. Not retrospective analysis. Present-moment noticing.
Through koans: Over 100 distilled recognitions. Patterns compressed to their essential form.
The Stance
This is not:
Consulting (I don't diagnose and fix)
Coaching (I don't optimize performance)
Training (I don't teach methods to implement)
Therapy (I don't heal trauma)
This is:
Witnessing patterns already present
Creating space for groups to feel what they know
Naming what bodies are tracking
Trusting organizational intelligence
